SUBSTRATA is a workhorse in experimental, web-based audiovisual media production. Features include:

Very basic SUBSTRATA Instrument and SUBSTRATA FX VST plugins are also available. They're distinct plugins containing the SUBSTRATA Library, its source audio engine.

The SUBSTRATA Instrument plugin is a basic grid of 12 dials, in a 3 x 4 grid. You start by selecting an ENGINE, each of which has a selection of presets. Following this is the AMOUNT dial, ENGINE PARAMETER 1, ENGINE PARAMETER 2,  OUTPUT GAIN knob, PAN/TONE knobs, a PITCH BEND RANGE knob, MAX POLYPHONY (up to 48 voices), VARIATION knob, and finally, the master bus toggle.

The SUBSTRATA FX plugin is a basic grid of 29 dials, in a 3 x 10 - 1 grid. You are presented with four FX channel slots. Each slot can have 1 of 42 effects applied at a given time. Knobs are presented in the following order: FX PICKER, FX TOGGLE, FX AMT, FX PARAMETER 1, FX PARAMETER 2, SUBTYPE PICKER. This order then repeats three more times, followed by internal key and scale picker knobs, a master mix knob, output gain knob, and finally, the master bus toggle.
